Urban Renewal Authority
At a public hearing on July 10, 2007, the Fountain City Council established an Urban Renewal Authority to address deteriorating conditions in certain neighborhoods in Fountain. A 7 member Fountain Urban Renewal Authority Commission was appointed by the City Council.
The Leland Consulting Group was hired to prepare the required conditions survey and urban renewal plan, as provided for in the Urban Renewal Statute, CRS 31-25. One is called US Highway 85 Corridor Gateway Plan, Future Land Use.
This future land use map is long term (20 years).
The other is the US Highway 85 Corridor Gateway Plan, Preferred Plan.
It is for the next few years or so, the economy allowing.
